Rolls Royce Ghost vs Phantom with Specifications, Wallpapers and Videos
You would felt wrong when reading that the Rolls Royce Ghost was based on the BMW 7 series platform, despite the overlap being scant. With Rolls Royce Phantom, its competitor is its own baby Royce but the combination gets cream rolls on the go. If Rolls Royce needed to build a driver-focussed car, they could hardly look in more logical a place than Munich. The 7 series as established in road tests is extraordinarily accomplished at balancing the luxury-oriented needs and the need to go around corners like a young boy. But the Ghost doesn't at all feel like re-skinned 7 and is very much the new British luxury icon which it's supposed to be.

The Ghost is 187mm longer than 760Li, which is the long wheelbase version of the 7 series. You get inside the ghost, and you'll see an unbridgeable distance between the dynamic of anything you have your hand on. You'll almost never see a yellow Rolls with purple interior and fluorescent piping. The Rolls Royce customization program is in intent. In any case, while you might negotiate your way into a yellow purple roller, Rolls Royce themselves would probably not approve.
You see an expanse of painfully well-polished wood, regulation acres of the highest quality leather, hand embroidered monograms, gold rimmed clock, definitely an estate rather than a car. The reskinning of the BMW iDrive system for Rolls Royce takes the system, visually at any rate to another place altogether.

All well-finished interior is almost all hand fitted. Some BMW elements do show series of buttons below aircon. On ghost, you need restraint even for full-bore acceleration. Depress the pedal too quickly, and you're kicking a software program around, but inside the car, you won't feel most of this impressive acceleration. Seriously, Ghost drives like a ghost. You never hear the engine and you can never feel a gear change even. As you are in the back, you would forget entirely about the heavy traffic outside.
Now when changing into the Phantom, from the Ghost is a full dimension change with scale. The Phantom isn't what you might call classically beautiful, despite the trademarked Parthenon grille. The elegance of line is only visible from rear quarters. Now when you see the available widgets in Phantom, you'll find no difference. But while you tend to fidget and fiddle in the Ghost, in Phantom you want to soak it all up. On the cold equipment front, is the glaring iDrive equivalent, which the Phantom continues to employ the first generation of. This means you're always better off using the world's best voice activated control system in existence.

What is the most interesting part in Phantom is the feel of silence inside. Once the doors close off with their silent thuds and the electrics have sucked the doors closed and all you hear is silence. It's said the loudest thing in the Phantom is the dashboard clock. This quality of ride comes with penalties. It's truly gigantic and there are gaps in traffic that would make for fine house plots which can prove too small for it.
Piloting the Phantom is even strange. Thin rimmed steering wheel, almost austere thing that does none of the normal things expensive car steering wheels are supposed to. Like return feedback, it feels like the steering wheel is for the help heck the Ghost's steering feels fatter in the hand and offers far better feedback at the best of times. You would not doubt long distances in Ghost which has comfort and power would be incredibly easy, but you would feel nothing as you were inside. The Phantom by extension does not even feel as quick as the Ghost. Phantom has the older engine, direct injection 6749cc V12. It manages 5.9 second run to 100kmph.
What makes the Phantom more than Ghost? It is that even ferocious throttle work does not upset the silence inside the Phantom.
So, the car preferred is the Phantom, as the Ghost is what you turn out to in search of mass-produced luxury cars but until you upgrade to the ultimate luxury car, it is the Phantom which is enrolled here in luxury. It also does not mean the Phantom fits for everyone. You got to have an ego and persona as large as the car, as you may feel unworthy of the car after a while.

Ghost has the most powerful engine here. The twin-turbo 6592cc V12 is a direct injected petrol unit and mated to the super quick 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. The Ghost easily manages a 4.9-second run to 100kmph with the top speed of 250kmph. When the 570ps and the 780Nm engine is prodded with a sharp stick, it doesn't howl like Ferrari or roar like a Lambo. It silently manages epic combustion that will squash the rear wheels. In the driver seat, you may also realize the attendant flashing yellow of the traction control light.
